Biography: Ellen Matson is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Rochester. Ellen obtained her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Suzanne Bart, studying low-valent uranium alkyl complexes. Subsequently, Ellen worked on biomimetic non-heme iron complexes for the reduction of oxyanions with Alison Fout at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. In her independent career, Ellen’s laboratory is focused on understanding the synthesis and reactivity of metal oxide complexes, namely polyoxovanadate-alkoxide clusters.
