Javier J. Concepcion received his B.S. in Chemistry from Universidad Central de Las Villas in Cuba and his Ph.D. from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. Following postdoctoral work at Georgia Tech with William S. Rees, Jr. and at UNC-Chapel Hill with Thomas J. Meyer, he worked as Senior Scientist in the Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) at UNC-Chapel Hill from 2009 to 2013. He is currently the group leader of the Artificial Photosynthesis group at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and BNL’s Institutional Coordinator in CHASE. His research interests include chemical, electrochemical and photochemical catalytic processes related to artificial photosynthesis.
