Sven Schneider (1972) studied at the Universities of Darmstadt and Bristol and graduated with a PhD from HU Berlin. After appointments as postdoctoral fellow (Northwestern University), Emmy-Noether Group Leader (TU Munich) and Associate Professor (U Erlangen-Nürnberg), in 2012 he assumed his current position as Full Professor in Göttingen and managing director of the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry (since 2015). His research interests focus on thermal, photochemical and electrochemical bond activation reactions (N2, CO2, H2, O2, hydrocarbons) and homogeneous catalysis. He received the Chemistry Award of the Academy of Sciences, Göttingen and an ERC Consolidator Grant.
